Detailed description

Russian outpost on the Baltic coast - Vyborg - an important center of land and waterways, and has economic importance among the subjects of the Leningrad region.

In 1944, due to the attack on the Vyborg, Leningrad Front combat formations have cut the enemy's blockade and crossed the previously impregnable defenses Mannerheim.

Vyborg selflessly withstood the hardships of war. They revere those who fought bravely for their city and the Karelian Isthmus. One of the urban area has gained a new name, becoming an area of Vyborg regiments with memorial dedicated to the heroes.

Presidential Decree Vyborg added to those valiant Russian cities that appear in the register of "City of Military Glory."
