Detailed description
The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs officially began its existence in 1802, the year. It was founded by the Emperor Alexander I. In the year in a single system has been created that includes all branches of the executive power in Russia.
However, the foreign policy of the Russian state was carried out in ancient Rus. Before the rise of fragmentation in the 838 th year, from Kiev to the Byzantine Empire was sent to the Embassy for the establishment of peaceful contacts. The result after the operation was the signing of the document "The peace and love." It recognized the existence of the Russian state and to provide them with an impact on international relations.
During a state of fragmentation and the Mongol-Tatar yoke of the foreign policy role of Russia was lost.
The first official agency - Ambassadorial Order - Created in 1549, the year, Ivan III the Terrible. It deals with issues of foreign policy. In the 17th century, it was first sent abroad Russian mission - in Sweden and Poland.
Increased development of foreign policy, given the era of Peter I. The most important events that will affect the relations with European countries, was the victory in the Northern War and the adoption of Tsar Peter I the imperial title. Europe had to admit as a new title of Russian sovereign, and new borders of the Russian Empire. Since that time, we began to appear permanent diplomatic missions in other countries: the Netherlands, Austria, Turkey, Denmark, Great Britain and France.
In 1917, after the formation of the new government, the Foreign Ministry was renamed the People's Commissariat. It was headed by Trotsky.
In March 1946 it was adopted the present name - the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
