Detailed description
The beginning of the battle, which took place in Leipzig in 1813, is considered to be the fourth of October. On the following day - 5 numbers - Napoleon Bonaparte offered to the enemy - the anti-French coalition of the settlement agreement. However, his proposal was no reaction from the allied army of Austria, Russia, Sweden and Prussia, he had not received.
Which began October 6 Leipzig massive attack on coalition forces from three directions: north, south and east was so powerful that the French have become the night of October 7 to move away to the west. But the Emperor Bonaparte, taking advantage of differences between the command of the Allies, was able to save about a hundred thousand of its soldiers tortured by pushing them across the Rhine. Thus, the coalition forces were able to gain the upper hand in the battle, freeing Germany from Napoleon's presence.
