Detailed description

Infantry General Alexander Ivanovich Ostermann-Tolstoy was a nephew of Field Marshal Kutuzov. At the beginning of the military events of the 12th year he was in retirement due to severe wounds, which got under Gutshtadtom in 1807. The news of the invasion of Napoleon in Russia led by General of Infantry immediately return to the operating troops.

During the Battle of Borodino 4 Corps infantry, headed by A. I. Osterman-Tolstoy, Kutuzov was ordered to go to a major portion - Cavalry General Nikolai battery Rajewski. It is here that the battle was fought, decided the fate of the entire battle.
