Detailed description

When in 1812 Napoleon invaded Russia, 28 year old Alexander Kutaisov commanded the artillery of the first Western Army of General Barclay de Tolly. During the retreat of the Russian army, he was at the center of all hostilities.

At the time of the battle of Borodino Field Marshal Kutuzov General he appointed him commander of all Russian artillery. Knowing what kind of courage possessed young general, he asked him not to risk his life.

Kutaisov was killed at Borodino, when the struggle was at its peak, trying to fight off the battery Rajewski.
