The civil war has left Chechnya under the patronage of the Ottoman Empire, organizing North Caucasian Emirate. The Emirate has become a part of the RSFSR, after the victory of the Bolsheviks. Since the beginning of 1921 a little less than a year Chechnya was part of the Mountain ASSR, after the collapse of which lasted until 1934 Chechen Autonomous Oblast. Since 1936 up to the Chechens and Ingush charges of aiding the Nazi invaders in 1944 and their subsequent deportation to the Central Asian republics of the Soviet Union, the territory of present-day Chechnya was part of the Chechen-Ingush ASSR.
Back to their historical homeland Chechens and Ingush were only able to in 1957. On the world map re-appeared the Chechen-Ingush Republic. Shelkovskaya and Naur districts of Stavropol Territory passed in the autonomous republic as a sign of goodwill, instead of the Prigorodny district, which has become part of North Ossetia.
In 1991, the power was seized by National Congress of the Chechen people, separated from Ingushetia. At the head of the self-proclaimed republic stood Dzhokhar Dudayev. Chechen Republic of Ichkeria was unable to obtain recognition by the world community. High criminalization of government and business, the persecution of the alien population has led to the formation of the opposition, which was supported by Russia.
From 1994 to 2009, Chechnya has experienced two wars, which resulted in the defeat of Dudayev's government. Akhmad Kadyrov, who came to power during the second Chechen campaign, became the first president of the Chechen Republic today.
