Detailed description
April 12, 1961, Yuri Gagarin became the first astronaut to orbit in outer space. The launch of the carrier rocket "Vostok" took place at the Baikonur Cosmodrome. 108 minutes in space made him famous all over the world and the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. Since 1962 to this day, 12 April began to celebrate Cosmonautics Day.
